New Features On iPad Air May Prove Helpful To Students

This year, at Rolling Meadows High School, our Freshmen each have the iPad Air 2 and our Sophomores have the iPad Air.  Since the teachers in our building have different models of the iPad, I thought this would be a great opportunity to highlight what these newer devices offer our students.

The first great feature that these devices offer is more memory.  The iPad Air had 32gb of memory and the iPad Air 2 has 64gb of memory.  This will prove to be more and more useful as more and more textbooks and curriculum are going digital.

Another great feature of these upgraded devices is the split screen option.  The split screen on the iPad Air 2 is a bit more robust, but both offer great usability.  Below is a video explaining a few ideas of how the split screen feature may be helpful to you or your students.

As always, we are always interested in what you are doing in your classroom.  Have you used the split screen feature with your students?  Please share in the comments below.  Have questions?  We love those too!

A little bit of history...............

District 214 is now in it's 2nd year of being 100% 1 : 1.  Our journey started back in 2010 in pilot phase and has grown to a full blown, 1 iPad in the hands of every teacher and students, program.  If you are interested in reflecting more on our journey, here is a link to a video that has been shared in our District's Stay Connected parent course.
